Olympics!

I'm still watching the opening ceremonies, since we set the DVR to record it and then waited almost two hours before starting so we could skip the commercials. There was a lot of flailing on the part of Mom and myself during the awesome opening show, since a rainstorm in Denver caused a lot of signal loss, and NBC airing little notes at the bottom of the screen about how they were "working on the problem" didn't make the several minutes of sound loss any less annoying (not to mention the moments of picture loss). They're going to reair it around two this coming morning, but I need to get my sleep for once, since tomorrow I'm moving back to Boulder (and thereby missing a good chunk of the earliest events).

Anyway, we're on to the Parade of Nations, which is taking foooreeeveeer. America came by a while ago and got extensive coverage, of course, during which time I was able to see the following things:

1. Whoever organized our entry dressed our athletes in little sailor outfits.
2. Several of our athletes were openly chewing gum.

Oh, America, you is a class act. George Bush tapping his little flag against his leg and checking his watch in the middle of the Parade confirms this beyond all doubt (though I was pleased to see him clap for the athletes from Iraq).

Also, BOOYEAH, WE'RE #1 in beach volleyball.
