“What?” asked Mary.

“Who actually starts a story like that?”
“I do. Now shut up and let me tell you the story.”
“What story?”

“Oh?” he frowned. “That’s all I get, is ‘oh’?”
“Tell me your story. I’m just dying to hear it.”
“Now you’re just patronizing me.”
“Oooh, big word.”
“Stop it, Mary.”
“Oh, fine. Tell me.”
“Don’t want to now.”
“Tell me!”
“No.”

Spunkula sighed. “All right. Once upon a time…”
Mary snickered.
“Once upon a time…I DIED. The end.”
