One thing I heard is that the original screenplay had more scenes with whatshisface, the, uhm. I forgot Jake's love interest's name. But her original betrothed dude. And I'm not really understanding why the subplot with him would have been cut, since it would have added an extra dimension to the film, what with how there was apparently more stuff about him really being anti-human and having to be won over by Jake. And I mean, Jake stole his fiance. Why wasn't there more backlash for that? I guess it was touched on, but it seems like it should have been a bigger deal.
With more distance from it, I'm hating on it less, but I still don't think it's a very smart movie. Heartfelt, sure, and it works well enough for what it is, but the fact that it was written very quickly does show. I probably should go back and see it again while it's still in theaters, if only for the pretties.
Also, I think it's hilarious that you've had to see it that many times. XD
