Well, I guess it boils down to attention spans. Just because we're awesome and we'd be okay sitting for another, I dunno, twenty minutes or whatever to get additional character development, most people wouldn't. It's unfortunate that our society is that way, but it's true nonetheless. Most people would probably take 20 minutes of visual oooo and aaaahs than 20 minutes of character stuff (which is probably why many people didn't like Meet Joe Black XD).
No, it wasn't a very smart movie. It was pretty up front and obvious, but I guess that doesn't always have to be a bad thing. I mean, we'd tend to expect more from a film... but if it still has something to offer and can provide entertainment, I guess at the end of the day that's what it's really about. ...And I'm not going to lie -- I was totally satisfied that it had a happy ending. I don't think I grew out of those XD.
Bahahaha well, I think it's hilarious that I've seen it that many times, too. XD I know my mom is talking about seeing it again... @__@ Maybe she'll go while I'm in Iowa.
