and I immediately supplant the ocean post

That's all right. Can't really express how I feel about the ocean on here anyway. It's both great and terribly not great, do you know what I mean? Anyway, yanked this from
gundamkiwi. Considering the fact that I don't get that many comments normally, I'm going to change the rules a little just for myself and say that if, after I've written the drabble for you, there haven't been ten comments, you can request another one, as many times as you like until there have been ten and as long as you wait for me to actually write the buggers before listing off another one.
The first 10 people to comment on this post get to request a drabble– 100 words – on a subject/character of their choosing from me. In return, they have to post this in their journal. Post all fandoms you’re willing to write for.
-Phantom of the Opera (Leroux, ALW, Schumacher, 1925 and 1943 film versions only--please specify)
-Lost
-Pirates of the Caribbean
-Secret Window
-Any Tim Burton film (excluding Cabin Boy and Batman Forever)
-Chronicles of Narnia
-Crime and Punishment
-Dracula 2000
-Beauty and the Beast (Disney version)
-Dear Frankie
-The Emporer's New Groove (disregarding the TV series because it shouldn't have been made)
-Invader Zim
-Lexx (yea, right, someone's going to request that)
-Princess Bride
ETA (what does ETA stand for, anyway?): 3/10 drabbles requested and written. Come on, folks, I need the practice. Remember, too, that you three can request a second one any time now.
ETA as of much later: the meme is closed--this post is public in order to show off the drabbles I wrote.

Date: 2006-05-01 11:25 pm (UTC)Jack Sparrow jolted awake, every sense straining, his mind a jumbled mess that struggled to make sense of his sudden wakefulness. He crept from his bed to the hatch of his cabin, held his breath, and listened.
“—have the map now,” he heard a voice mutter. Several other voices murmured their appreciation and Jack frowned. He pushed the door open slowly to be greeted by the sight of more than half his crew assembled on the deck.
“Why, Jack,” grinned his first mate. “Nice of you to join us.”
The moonlight glinted wickedly off of Barbossa’s sword, and Jack understood.

Date: 2006-05-02 11:09 am (UTC)Edward put his palm on the back of the bowling ball and did as he was told. The ball rolled lazily down the push ramp, speeding up as it hit the slope. Edward watched, bemused, as the ball left the frame and skidded down the lane, only to land firmly in the gutter halfway to the pins.
“Good try, Edward!” enthused Peg from her seat next to the ball return. Bill nodded absently as he marked Edward’s attempt on the scoreboard.
Edward smiled gratefully, and wondered what was going on.

Date: 2006-05-02 11:12 pm (UTC)It had all been the fault of the squirrel.
Zim contemplated his position. He was stuck in a tree, hanging upside-down by one foot under a nest of idiotically cheerful birds. Gir stared up at his master, puppy eyes wide and vacant.
“Such retribution will be brought down upon the squirrels!” commented Zim. “Get me down, Gir, so I can plan my revenge.” His eyes narrowed and he steepled his fingers, though the menacing effect was somewhat diminished by his current position.
“Are we there yet?” asked Gir. “It’s dance time!”
Zim sighed. It was just one of those days.

Date: 2006-05-05 11:57 am (UTC)For the longest time, everyone had been able to keep it a secret. Edmund never knew what deal Aslan had struck with the White Witch, though in all the excitement that came after, he all but forgot about it.
Now, though…he tried to wrap his mind around what he had overheard. Aslan, killed by Jadis? It didn’t seem possible, not least because he had seen the Lion the very next day, alive and well. And that he would have done such a thing for Edmund, the traitor…Edmund shook his head, vision blurred with tears. He would have to ask Lucy.

Date: 2006-05-05 07:24 am (UTC)..And I'm quite sure that probably some time this weekend, I'll finally be having a post similar to this up in my journal. I've been waiting on it so I don't explode my brain in the process.

Date: 2006-05-05 11:47 pm (UTC)It was such a nice ceremony. The king thought Buttercup looked a little under the weather, but with his eyesight, it was possible he wasn’t even looking at Buttercup. He smiled all through the wedding, though he had trouble keeping up with the events. Weren’t they supposed to say “I do” at some point? Those young whippersnappers were always changing the rules on him.
Now it was done, and he found himself toddling along beside Buttercup, his mind off in some mysterious place where things went a bit slower and there was always plenty of jam. He liked jam. Buttercup said something to him, and he smiled and nodded like he always did.
“Won’t that be nice?” he commented before his mind returned to the jam.
Mmm, jam.
